Google Earth will open it fine, but I want to see it on a map. Basecamp will of course display it on a map, but the underlying map is ugly. I'm not sure how many points there are, but a lot of the 5,000km was undulating switchbacks through the mountains.

In the longer term, you do have the option of creating a new Google "My Maps" map, and importing KML, KMZ or GeoRSS into that. Once done, you can share the resultant map using the standard My Maps tools.
Actually there are 3 ways to import GPX files into MotoMap. 1. Import GPX files by entering an URL in MotoMap. If you found the GPX file somewhere online and you know the direct URL to it, you can enter this URL in the “Import GPX” screen. You can get to that screen from the Ride Tab → Follow Track → Import GPX. 2.

That way, you can import and see your geographical data in other apps. For example, on a map with cross-country driving directions and restaurants along the way, download just the directions so you can visualize it in Google Earth.
