A long time ago, when you registered Guild Wars under NCsoft's banners, you registered in something called the NCMA - NCsoft Master Account. Your NCMA had a user name, for example "Dornsinger" and not an email as such. Because Guild Wars was designed to work with an email as account name, your NCMAs login became part of that.
